Why Sumbawa? Less people, more fun and more waves. We didn't go to the Mentwais (too expensive) and we didn't go to Bali (too many people in and out of the water). So we traveled almost 40 hours via Lombok to Sumbawa to surf the breaks around Lakey Peak. After ten days at the Peak, which we only surfed once because of fifty people in the line up, we headed west to the home of waves like Scar Reef and Supersucks. We didn't surf them because the swell wasn't big and the waves would have been too gnarly anyways. Our homebreak out front worked almost all the time so we decided to surf there. Sean, our host, told us some secrets as well, so we had our fair share of empty waves. That's what we came for.
